Kobie Marketing Receives PCI-DSS 2.0 and SSAE-16 (SOC-1) Type II

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) December 23, 2011

Kobie Marketing, a recognized leader in the loyalty marketing industry, is pleased to announce that it successfully recertified PCI-DSS 2.0 and completed an SSAE-16 (SOC-1) Type II, formerly the SAS 70 Type II. Both demonstrate the operational effectiveness of the organizations’ quality controls, operational practices, hosting services and ability to meet the latest regulatory requirements for secure data operations.

Kobie Marketing offers end-to-end loyalty marketing solutions for some of the world’s leading financial institutions. Kobie runs credit and debit card reward programs on it’s best-in-class technology platform, Alchemy™ which require it to secure data for millions of credit and debit cardholders each year.

“Our proprietary technology, Alchemy™ processes and stores millions of transactions in both real-time and batch across a variety of card and payment options and through open and closed loop POS systems. We also align with global processors and merchant acquirers,” commented Michael Hemsey, the President of Kobie Marketing. He continued, “The PCI certification and passing the rigorous SSAE-16 Type II audit signify our company’s maturity in data and process management on behalf of our clients, the integrity of their customer data, and the sophistication of our client engagements.”

There are two types of SSAE-16 audits. Kobie passed the prestigious Type II audit, a more exhaustive process that includes in-depth testing of controls and practices over a minimum six-month period. SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II is the international standard and demonstrates that Kobie has adequate safeguards in hosting and processing customer data. More specifically, by passing the SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II audit, Kobie demonstrated appropriate internal controls are being met for the following activities: Physical Security, Environmental Protection, Computer Operations, Information Security, Application Change Control, Data Communications, Order Processing, Invoicing, Call Center Services, and Inventory Control.

“Organizations realize the increasing importance of boosting the security of their networks. That doesn’t come as a surprise given that last year security breaches averaged $ 7.2 million per incident. Here at Kobie we recognize the importance of having multi-faceted security controls in place to protect our client’s and their customer’s data,” said Don Hughes, Chief Information Officer at Kobie Marketing. “Our clients trust us with sensitive customer data. It’s an honor that we are dedicated to upholding by delivering only the highest levels of security protection on their behalf.”

About SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II

Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II is a widely recognized auditing standard for service organizations to demonstrate they have adequate controls and processes in place. A SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II examination demonstrates that an independent accounting and auditing firm has reviewed and examined an organization’s control objectives and activities. At the conclusion of the examination, a formal report including the auditor’s opinion is issued to the examined organization.
